Case study
Coca Cola Midi, France Coca Cola Midi prepares concentrates, bases, and fruit juices for production sites of the Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite brands. D-Count is used in the quality control laboratory to test fruit juice ingredients used in Coca- Cola drinks manufactured in Europe. Due to a faster logistics process and the widespread use of tankers for transporting the product, it became necessary to reduce analysis time from five days to one day. After evaluating different systems such as PCR, impedance and ATP, Coca Cola Midi selected D-Count because it allows products to be analysed based on the company requirements: l Quantitative analysis with satisfactory detection limit. l Automated analysis with a reduction in analysis time. l Result reliability. l Robust system for intense routine use. Rapid test results allow the manufacturer to respond faster in case of contamination and to release products earlier. This enables Coca Cola to improve efficiency and reduce costs, especially for warehousing. “The use of D-Count has further enhanced our leadership position. Based on the success of D-Count at Coca Cola Midi, other facilities are now equipped with the same system,” Sophie Verdier, QC manager of Coca Cola Midi, told International Food Hygiene.
